THE LOST CITY OF Z by David Grann

In 1925, British Explorer Percy Fawcett set forth to find the legendary city of Gold, El Dorado or as he named it City of Z. His group consisted of 3 including his son Jack and Jack’s best friend. They were never seen again. David Grann discovered the story 80 years later and embarked on his own search for both the mystery of Fawcett and the lost city of Z. Compelling, fascinating and absorbing.

If you like to know what happened to people that disappeared 80 years ago, this is the book for you. British Explorer Percy Fawcett set out to find a legendary city in South America and was never heard from again. The author undertakes the mission of trying to find out what happened to him and his party. A very interesting and compelling story.

This book took me a while to get interested. The history behind the explorers was at times boring, but necessary for background. Overall interesting, but I felt a little let down about the end. I feel like such a huge build up needed a stronger and more thorough ending.
