Very depressing for most of the book, but it had excellent character development.

I really enjoyed this book and felt immersed in this small town and its people. Didn't expect it to have so much basketball play-by-play, but still enjoyed it even though I’m not a huge sports fan. It was a genuine “feel good” book.

It was hard for me to put this book down because the author is very adept at character development. I'm not much of a sports fan, but I still found the subject of basketball interesting, especially the way it related to the story. A definite 4-star rating on this novel!
