This is what I call hard-core fantasy -- no humans, many different creatures, and many names for people, food, measurements, places, etc. So you immediately have to figure all that out.

The story is about Moon, who has lived his life as the only one of his kind and unable to fit in anywhere for long. He meets his race, doesn't do well at fitting in there, either, but helps defend them against a threatening race.

It took me about 50 pages to get going with it, and some of it's interesting and some of it kind of drags.

I normally love fantasy. This one is decent, just not great.

(It's pretty clean -- no swearing, minimal innuendo.)
