Near the end of WWII, a plane carrying members of the US military, including Women’s Army Corps members, crashed in a part of the New Guinea jungle known for its cannibalistic tribes. There were only three survivors. This is the story of their survival and the stunning efforts undertaken to save them.

I did not expect to like this book as much as I did! It was a great read. Sometimes the details were a bit tedious, but generally it is a fast paced non-fiction that reads like a novel.
